Under either federal or state laws, most employees in the United States are entitled to receive minimum wage and overtime compensation. Unfortunately, many employers skirt their obligations by failing to pay employees for all their work time. Sometimes employers misclassify workers so that they are not protected by laws that were put in place to safeguard compensation.
Are You Being Asked to do More With Less?
During the Great Recession, many employees have been asked to do more with less. Employees are being asked to work more hours, but at a lower salary. Or they are being asked to work at pay that barely keeps up with inflation. Many are being asked to work overtime but aren’t being paid for that time.
